Tucson Web Stackers is now Blossom

Fellow Web Stackers,

I hope you are well and your 2022 is off to a good start.

Our last Tucson Web Stackers meetup occurred in September 2019, just before COVID-19 began to impact our area. Since then, Eric and I took some time to watch the pandemic unfold and think about the meetup's future.

Tucson (and the Sun Corridor in general) has a vibrant tech meetup scene. We plan to shift our focus toward supporting the web technologist community across the entire region, and away from organizing frequent local meetups in Tucson. To do that, we are starting a new organization named Blossom which will be,

  • A directory of meetups and local events across the Sun Corridor.
  • A mailing list which will be open to the community.
  • A list of job postings, networking events, and places to work.

In the future, Blossom will expand to include local events and perhaps even a yearly conference. We are also looking for sponsors for an upcoming Discourse instance.

Join us on Element to receive regular updates and stay in touch with other developers in the area. Feel free to share an update and let folks how things are going. We can't wait to see you there!

Eric and I will be renaming the Tucson Web Stackers Meetup page, GitHub organization, and Slack instance back to TucsonJS. If you would like to be the organizer for the future TucsonJS meetup, let us know. 😀 Otherwise, the Meetup.com page will eventually go offline as it requires a paid subscription.
